Positive Travel Policy
We want every SAY Tours journey to benefit local people, respect Sri Lankan culture and leave the places we visit in good condition.
Keep travel local
We prioritise Sri Lankan guides, drivers, family-run stays, independent restaurants and local experiences wherever they are a good fit for your journey. This helps more of the value of tourism remain within the communities you visit.
Respect people and culture
We encourage thoughtful clothing and behaviour at religious sites, asking permission before photographing people, learning a few local courtesies and treating every community as a home rather than a backdrop.
Protect wildlife
Wildlife experiences should put animal welfare first. We favour responsible operators, keep a respectful distance, avoid feeding or touching wild animals and do not support experiences that exploit captive wildlife.
Tread lightly
We plan sensible routes, encourage refillable water bottles and reusable bags, and ask travellers to reduce single-use plastic, conserve water and energy, and leave natural and historic places as they found them.
Travel at a human pace
A well-paced private itinerary can reduce unnecessary driving while creating more meaningful time in each place. We welcome your interests and accessibility needs so the route can be designed responsibly around you.
